This book made me want to throw my copy of the movie out the window. They need to redo that one and do it right. Great book!
This was a second try on the characters from Hornet's Nest... up and moved to a new city, Richmond VA. It's funny looking back now, because Richmond's police Chief just came to Charlotte. The book sucks though.
I read this book because it is set in Charlotte, NC where I live. The author is a former Charlotte native and wrote for the local newspaper. I can't say I enjoyed her writing style, or the book. The character development was good and seemed realistic but the plot was non-existent.
This is Dan Brown's first try at his "formula." I think it's better than the Davinci Code. Read this one first.
I read this book a long time ago. I liked it, but it is the pinnacle of Dan Brown's regurgitation of the same formula in everything he writes. Expect a secret society and betrayal in everything he writes.
This was an extremely unbiased and unfiltered review of the war in Iraq from it's inception to now. What you see and hear in the news media doesn't even begin to detail the complexities and stories contained within this war.
My wife got me this book for Christmas and I ended up reading the whole thing over several days when I was laid up with a sprained knee. It's a good story that spans an entire lifetime for a small group of characters, detailing specific events in their lives and how they intertwine. It isn't my favorite type of fiction, but the writing was excellent and the story kept me engrossed.
Great biography from someone who worked his way up from the bottom.
