Is this any good?

I've seen the movie, but is the book good?

The book is SO much better than the movie!

the book is alot more descriptive and detailed but
the movie well, brad pitt as a vampire need i say more?

It's an extremely good book. Anne Rice's ability to paint a picture is truely amazing. She makes you feel like you're there, feeling what they're feeling, seeing what they're seeing. It's a classic.

I hope you havnt seen Queen of the Damned yet cos that movie is baaaaaad and it prevented me from reading the book for quite a while. The book was decent but interview and lestat are great great books. Memnoch the devil is even better (and it has lestat in it)

you should definitely read this. Rice is really good with details and the characters are amazing. SOOOOO much better than the movie depiction.

This book was way better than the movie, more descriptive. As for comments about the movie, queen of the damned. it was inspired from 2 books, both were awesome. But I hope whoever wrote the movie based on these books never writes anything again.

Great book, much better than the film! You wont want to put it down from the first page! Got me hooked on Anne Rice, The Vampire Chronicles and the Lives of the Mayfair Witches. Would highly recommend

Anne Rice really spoiled this book for me with he increasingly poor sequels. I'd recommend reading this, maybe The Vampire Lestat, and then just stop. I'd even consider stopping with this, and leaving Lestat... well, I won't spoil it.

I found the later books morally repugnant, as Anne Rice seems to fall in love with the serial killers and despise their innocent victims. In IWTV she has a much more balanced view. Louis knows what he is, and so do we. Lestat is fooling himself, and trying to fool us.

The book is 100 x better. I recommend it highly
