Awkward, sweet, passionate, innocent, secretive . . .
Do you remember your first time?
Katherine and Michael won't ever forget theirs. They were seniors in high school. Totally crazy for each other, they thought they had found the one. It was first love, and it was perfect: long talks on the phone, ski trips, and double dates when they simply couldn't wait to be alone.
But was Katherine and Michael's relationship the love of a lifetime, or merely the beginning of a lifetime of love?... (show more)
Ahhh, soft core porn for the tween set. My copy was in tatters by 8th grade.
I think everybody in Athens High School found a copy of this one way or another.
This book was of no interest to me in junior high (or high school for that matter) because I wasn't emotionally ready for the kind of relationship highlighted in the book. In honor of Banned Books Week, I decided to take a day and read it. This book is amazing. I would recommend it to any pre-teen or teenager who is learning about love.
Remember when everyone wanted to read this because it had s-e-x in it??? It was not allowed in our school library in the 80's but people were still having s-e-x anyway...hmmmmm interesting.
Every woman should reread this book when she's in her 20's, 30's, etc - it's so different the second time around.
I have been reading a few books I had when I was young and I still found I enjoyed this one. When I read it I was a bit too young and found lots of it funny but now looking back it reminds you of things in your own life. A great book for any teenage girl.
