haha okay i think iv mentioned a comparison bewteen harry potter and twilight in just about every post lol so i am asking you guys now... which do you prefer? i know they are really different, but they are the only two serious which i think really stand out; worsk by exceptionally gifted authors

I would say harry potter by far. Whilst i like the characters in twilight etc, i find i much prefer Rowlings style of writing and i find meyers books harder to read because for me they dont flow as easily- but i still love the books! -just my personal preference. Although ive not finished breaking dawn yet for the reason i just cant seem to get into it.

Stephenie Meyer is no JK Rowling. Harry Potter is better, hands down.

because I could say I prefer some of the HP books over some of the twilight books.
but I could say I like some of the twilight ones better.
I'm only about 3/4's of the way through 'Eclipse'

so as a *series* I don't know which I like better.
it will depend on the rest of eclipse... and how breaking down goes.

I haven't yet read 'breaking dawn' but as for the rest of the books, there is a depth there that HP can't even get close to. the twilight series is much better for the adult reader, for people who like read into every sentence and guess each twist and turn of the book, which would be why I choose it over HP. HP, though, has a certain twist all it's own, but it is still more suited to the less in depth readers.

Yes, i totally agree. I think that HP is a book that anyone can enjoy- as long as they know how to read. Twilight is something that you really do have to think about- there is more imagery and foreshadowing that you have to look in depth to find whereas HP, its so obvious whats going to happen next that you wish you could just skip to that part in the book! Dont get me wrong however, they are both excellent series.

tbh, I just like that there's wayyyyyyyy more angst than there EVER was in HP.

I've read all the Twilight series and all the HP series multiple times and while I wish Edward was my real life boyfriend I still have to go with HP. There's not even a close comparison in writing styles. Although Meyers writes well, and her characters are great and so's the plot, it is just no where near that of J.K. Rowling. So Harry Potter it is with Twilight in a very close second!

I have to agree with what someone already said. I TOTALLY WISH EDWARD WAS MY BOYFRIEND! And now, I'm only going to date people who treat me likes he treats Bella. But, in the end, I believe Harry Potter's still better. There were a lot of things that Stephenie Meyer left out of the series, and I know she only left them out because she felt lazy. THAT'S SO CHEAP! But, anyway, I still love Harry Potter more.

Twilight is sooo much better then HP because I can read Twilight books again and again where as I need a break in between HP because it gets repetative. You don't get a repeatative storyline within Twilight and Edward Cullen is so amazing.
