i have been doing a lot of thinking and i hate to put this in other peoples head because i know its something i haven't decided if i want to happen yet....but think about it she is constantly talking about Romeo and Juliet and other romances that have ended death. i can imagine it now Romeo=Edward, Juliet= Bella, and Paris = Jacob......i really hope she doesn't end it like that but with all thats gone on in the book i don't think a "And they lived happily ever after for the rest of eternity" is going to work to finsh it off.....i also can't see her ending it with either only bella or edward surviving....so after a lot of thought i came to only one conclusion....Romeo & Juliet here we come.
It's crossed my mind before, but I don't think it's going to happen. Meyer loves happy endings(she's said so herself), although the road to those happy endings came be filled with turmoil. Every book thus far has had a happy ending, but there are always points along the way where as you're reading, you don't think the ending could be happy at all. I think in the end, Bella and Edward will end up together because that's what the fans wants and ultimately, I think it's what Meyer wants too. Also, I don't remember where I read this, but she has hinted that she will be writing two more novels in this series after Midnight Sun that will follow the story of Alice and Jasper and that Bella and Edward could make apperances, so I don't think one of them will die.
good point....its just hard for me to see a happy ending....with everything that has happened it almost doesn't seem right.....i hope it does end happiliy i'm just not seeing it yet
When I saw her on her Host tour, she said she will not kill anyone off, so no Romeo and Juliet. Besides, Edward would live on forever in our hearts anyway!!
I don't think this will happen, since even on her Host tour, she said that she wouldn't be writing a sequel to The Host for a while, since the only way she could continue it would be to kill someone off, and she loves her characters to much to kill them right now. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say she probably loves Bella and Edward more then her Host characters, so I would that Bella and Edward won't die. That's just my reasoning though.
She isn't going to have a Romeo and Juliet ending. If you go to BarnesandNoble.com and then go to Breaking Dawn she gives a video interview and she says that the last book is a tie in of two novels. The second book was a mix of Romeo and Juliet, the third Wuthering Heights, and I forget what the first one is and what one of the 4th one is.
well, i'm relieved...but i still stick with my i don't know if a "happy" ending is going to be good for the series.
OMG! I never thought she would even THINK of doing that! It never occurred to me that that's a very real possibility. Geez, now I think I'd be worrying about this for awhile. I sure hope she doesn't!
i know it just came to me one day...i thought it was ahuge possibility, i was concerned and still am a little but at the same time i'm expecting so much that if she doesn't do it that way i might be a little disapointed...i've made me reason quite clear why.
it hasn't crossed my mind but it's definently possible because a good "happily ever after" ending isn't really what most of the readers are looking for. I think that 1 of them will have to die before Bella gets a chance to become a vampire
