Quote-leftOne of the best books you can read on the subject of the Vietnam War, from a soldier's perspective. I rank this book above We Were Soldiers Once...and Young, which is another excellent account of the war.Quote-right

Quote-leftAmazing recount of what helicopter pilots endured during Vietnam War. Pretty interesting introduction (for me) to how helicopters fly.Quote-right

Quote-leftA helicopter pilot's recount for his year long tour of Vietnam War. Feels like a friend's story at a dinner party, vivid, funny and sad, and it answers some of my question of how war veteran think.Quote-right

Quote-leftawesome book about flying helicopters in the vietnam war. ok, its only awesome if you want to read about flying helicopters in the vietnam war. For a strictly Vietnam war novel, try The Things they Carried instead.Quote-right

Quote-leftI wanted to get a better idea of what my dad went through with out having to ask so I picked this up. It's a graphic book obviously but very well written. It had maps and Huey diagrams for reference also. Kinda cool.Quote-right

Quote-leftThis is a fascinating account of life as a Vietnam helicopter pilot. It is a real insight to what these guys had to deal with. Robert Mason has a very honest clear way of writing and really brings it home to you. I highly recommend this.Quote-right

Quote-leftRobert Mason joined the Army to fly helicopters and got sent to Vietnam. The only thing he knew was it was a great place to buy stereo equipment.Quote-right

Quote-leftOne of my favourite books of all time. Story about a "slick" helicopter pilot and his mates (slicks have no weapons apart from door gunners). Flying missions in and out of the combat zone in Vietnam and getting up to all sorts of mischief. Includes the immortal lines "did he just order us to jerk off?" and "will that stop bullets?......no, as a matter of fact it won't even slow them down". You must read this book!Quote-right

Quote-leftWant to learn how to fly a helicopter ? Then this is the book for you. Such a detailed description of rotory winged aviation. A griping portrayal of the authors experiences in Vietnam in the Air Cav. I think this would make an excellent film or TV drama but guess this episode in American history has been well covered by Hollywood already...Quote-right
