Ello everyone! I am a 10th grade student who reads welp pretty much all the time. I was very interested in reading this book but I wasn't sure of the style of the writing. I am not the biggest fan of Old English writing. I find it a little more difficult and timely. Please someone tell me if this book is in Old English type writing... THANKS =)
Don't worry, it's not difficult to read it all. I read it for the first time as senior in high school. I loved it then and I still love it now.
I actually read this book the year it came out...it has been my favorite ever since. Get the old copy...not the movie version book...trust me. And if you like this one....go read her others like The Constant Princess, The Virgin's Lover, The Queen's Fool, and The Boleyn Inheritence.
i got the new copy i didn't realize there was a difference.. what is the difference??
the constant princess is actually the first book in this series. then as follows
the other boleyn girl
the boleyn inheritance
the queens fool
the virgins lover
the other queen(coming out in may 2008)
if you love english history you will love all these books. they are very easy to read and will have you turning pages quickly. there is no need to read them in order, but they do build on the charactors you will love if you do read them in order.
There is no difference except the cover. I don't know what she's talking about.
While that order follows the correct course of history, that is not the order in which they were written/published. The Other Boleyn Girl came first, followed by The Queen's Fool, The Virgin's Lover, The Constant Princess, and The Boleyn Inheritance. The Other Boleyn Girl does not build upon the character of Katherine of Aragon as portrayed in The Constant Princess, for example, because The Other Boleyn Girl was written first. If anything, it is the other way around.
True, the book itself is the same, but I always go for the "real" cover as opposed to the "fake" movie publicity cover. It's usually classier and doesn't have some actor/actress plastered all over it. Hooray for imagining my own version of what the characters look like! :-P
I bought the book three days ago! I can't wait to start reading it,, I'm trying to finish the book I'm currently reading as fast as I can. I bought the movie cover book,, and I like it more,, it just looks so new and nice! I saw the movie,, it was amazing! Natalie Portman, Scarlet Johansson, and Eric Bana did a great job! I recommend seeing the movie!
