Dumbledore's inheritance to Harry

My husband and I were talking about this the other day. We know that the snitch was important to Harry's quest and that Dumbledore needed to leave Harry something in which he could hide the ring. But that's it? After everything that Dumbledore and Harry meant to each other, shouldn't Dumbledore have left something else to Harry? Some of the odd metal gadgets in his office maybe? What about the pensieve? Or what about his supply of raspberry jam and lemon drops? Sure Dumbledore would have probably known that the ministry was going to confiscate everything, but once Harry saved the world there was a good chance he could get everything back.
What else should Dumbledore have left Harry, or anyone else for that matter? Hagrid? McGonnagal? Filch?

well, I don't know but the legacy of being a mentor of Harry is most than anyone could desire, plus Dumbledore didn't debt anything to Harry and love above all Hogwarts.

I think part of Dumbledore's legacy was that he was distancing himself from Harry in order to protect him. As far as any of the Death Eaters knew, the relationship between Harry and Dumbledore was strictly that of a pupil and headmaster, and had he left more to Harry than to any of the other students it would have looked very suspicious. The Death Eaters who examined his will may then have had reason to examine why Harry was so special to Dumbledore, and may have discovered their plan to destroy Voldemort. It could have been argued that the two items left to Harry were his already, as they were objects of significance to his publicly known school experience. Anything else Dumbledore might have left him would have been Dumbledore's personal property and could not have been argued away. As for what Dumbledore may or may not have left others in the school, I think that would have been very interesting, but obviously had no impact on the remainder of the story, so was left out of the novel.
