Quote-leftInkheart is not the most brilliant book I ever read, but I quite likde it, it's pleasant enough to read.

And it's fun, because I rarely read books in my mothertongue nowadays. Since I started reading Harry Potter in english (those where the books that really brought me back to english), I've been mostly reading english books thinking 'If I understand the original version of the book, I'll read the original version of the book'. And the original version of the most fantasy books is english.

Inkheart is originally german, and so I read it in german. It's written by an german author and I often find myself stumbling about the word order she uses, because german german is a bit different to austrian german. There's a saying in Austria in connection to this: 'Was uns trennt ist die gemeinsame Sprache', meaning 'What seperates us is the shared language.'Quote-right

Quote-leftI think it's a bit flat. The characters seemed so one-sided.Quote-right
