i knew almost everything in this book already, but i would recommend it to people who want an introductory lesson on politics.
A good refresher for those already interested in the current issues surrounding the political sphere. Otherwise, a sufficient introduction to those unfamiliar with the current debates in Washington.
If you are already a veteran political news junkie, this is mostly review. Probably the best chapter was on energy policy.
This book was very informative and I truly found it to be nonpartisan. The author's information states that she's a daughter of a Democratic senator and the niece of the Republican U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. She spells out the views of Democrats and Republicans on each issue and explains their reasoning. She also shows how politics is really a big gray area, with liberal Republicans and conservative Democrats. I recommend it for anyone who wants to know the politicians' stances on the issues effecting our countries today.
This should be required reading for all high school students...well, for all voters, actually.
