Very good book. Nice story, love the characters (the Kabras are wonderfully twisted). Can't wait for book 2!
Really good book and very interesting. I bought it upon recommendation from a neighbor and can't wait for the next one to come out. This is good stuff! Also, a quick and easy read. It's almost a cross between DaVinci Code and Indiana Jones!
I am going to start keeping track of the children's/teen books I am reading (in large part FOR work, although it doesn't seem LIKE work). This is the first in a new series of 10 books featuring the most powerful family in the world, the Cahill family. The Cahill heirs are on the search for a mysterious treasure that will make the winners powerful. We hope that Amy and Dan Cahill--the only moral people in the family--are victorious.
This book, for chapter book readers up to 14 years old or so, is being paired with cards (think Garbage Pail kids with clues), AND an online game where children can win $100,000 worth of prizes. But the best part? It's actually well-written too. A saga for the internet generation.
The first book was written by Rick Riordan, who writes the incredibly enjoyable series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The second book, coming out December 2nd, is written by another children's author, Gordon Korman.
If you love to solve puzzles then this is a series for you. Each book takes you on a journey that follows the life of a famous person in history. Along the way there are puzzles to solve and clues to discover. Each book will be written by a different author so it should make for a interesting series.
For me It was a quick read but so well written I hope the others do just as good a job. really enjoy the historical aspect.
