The audacious new adventure of the At Risk team from Americas #1 bestselling crime writer.
When Patricia Cornwell introduced the quicksilver, cut-to-the-bone style and extraordinary cast of characters of At Risk, the result was electrifying: At Risk is Cornwells finest novel. This book was okay. Not as thrilling as the Scarpetta series. But her writing style is still captivating and she draws such a perfect picture with her words.. it's like I'm watching the story on a screen rather than reading the words on a page.
I agree that this was also not her best... I do not think that she will be able to recapture her early days with Kay Scarpetta. If you are looking for a good book to read that keeps you on the edge and more entertained, look for an earlier Kay Scarpetta book.
I don't really understand what propels Win to watch after the nasty DA. This story was not as well thought out as her other novels. Still a quick fun read though.
I was disappointed in this book. There were way too many characters and the main ones weren't that interesting. The couple that ended up together, didn't seem that realistic either.
Disappointed at the length of the book. At 180 pages there wasn't enough book to explore characters or even the several plot lines in depth.
