Quote-leftFinished this book on vacation last month. Loved it. I taught me a lot about the tough decisions that many of our presidents had to face. If you are into American History and Politics then I recommend it.Quote-right

Quote-leftI think this is a good analogy of presidential integrity, in the line of Profiles of Courage by JFK. In some ways I think this is better.Quote-right

Quote-leftVery interesting book especially the chapters on Truman backing a Jewish homeland in the Middle East after WWII, JFK's reluctants on civil rights - he needed the votes to get reelected. The chapters on Jackson fighting the Second Bank of the U.S. were enlighting as were the chapters on John Adams avoiding war at the cost of a second term. Glad to see someone give Adams credit for being a good president. Rounding it off, the chapters on Washington, Lincoln and Reagan (the three best presidents imo) shed nothing new that I already didn't know.Quote-right

Quote-leftGreat insights into strengths of several presidents, some of which I knew already, much of which was new and very interesting.Quote-right

Quote-leftVery interesting... stories about some of our greatest presidents that you've never heard. We glorify our founding fathers, but this book shows many of the petty, partisan politicking of today was also rampant from the start.Quote-right

Quote-leftPretty good book. in places gets off track to include rather random facts about the presidents that are cool, but hardly relevant to the main narrative. still, well worth a read and moves quickly.Quote-right

Quote-leftThis will change your view about Presidential History. All President's are still human. Great book.Quote-right
